In this book Holmes talks about the different types of dust. I can admit this is an interesting book, reading the introduction just pulls you to read the next chapter and all other following chapters. It gives a reader the energy to read from the beginning to the last chapter. I am still reading this book but I just wanted us to read it together because it is so interesting.knowing about how something tiny can cause something huge. isn't this interesting to know and read on? Dust is just a small particle which Holmes describes in microns. In this book Holmes puts it to the reader that the invisible dust is not as harmless as it appears. Billions of tons of dust go to the sky each year which surely alters the behavior of the earth?s atmosphere. She started her study when she visited a Mongolia?s Gobi Desert. She says that the dust that bellowed on the desert floor was impossible to ignore. As the whirling specks of dust invaded her eyes and nose. They infiltrated the pages of her books. And also invaded the depths of her sleeping bag.?? The raindrop contains a piece of dust so how many specks must there be in the sky? Where do they come from?? you have got to read this book to find out more. But well, we all know that dust is taking new heat for killing lots of people which we often think that dust kills the miners, sand blasters, and asbestos workers. But Holmes says that thousands may be millions, of ordinary people who simply live and breathe in dusty air. According to many scientists, a lot of asthma patients are believed to have got the epidemic because of various house dust, however Holmes contends that this can be caused even out of just too little house dust. She came to see that air is the medium and dust is the message. Air blows the dust and dust will find its destination. We also have personal dust which each of us has in the haze of our own skin flakes and disintegrating clothing. Each match we strike, each light we flick, and each mile we drive causes more dust in the air. When the fragmenting skin of the earth rises, both at natures aging and our own, it changes the weather even the climate. When dust settles, this dust alters the seas and the soils and the delicate linings of our own lungs. So this is the magic that exists in that tiny particle we call dust. Every time we inhale, thousands or more shrill into our bodies where some lodge in the maze of the nose, some stick into the throat and others find sanctuary into our lungs. Plants a also exhale a billion tons of organic chemicals into the wind. This is making the climate to shift because according to Holmes ?research I guess everything holds dust which is dangerous. Now when it comes to our country where dust is everywhere because of the dusty roads, I think even now as I finish this report I have inhaled thousands or more. Dust rises up to the sky through condensation during the water cycle. As scientists are finding out how tiny dust kills, the environmentalists are finding out how to reduce and do away with this dust that pollutes the air and leads to climate changes. This is an interesting book and everyone should read it. You will get to realize we are dust ourselves and in dust we shall return.
