Beeah – Support for Greener community

Through Recycle – Thon?16, Quiz & Drawing competition

I have stated it in my previous ambassador reports that a local governmental organization names Beeah is very active in supporting for greener community in and around Shrajah. Over the period of few years it has been hugely successful is diverting waste from landfills. It has constructed a huge yard of recycling the Paper, Plastic, Tyres, Cans, building material & what not. The target of Beeah is to divert all the waste from landfills and recycle as much as possible.

In order to achieve its target it encourages corporates & individuals to come forward & participate in its various recycling competitions. I am happy &proud to state that I have individually & my school Delhi Private School Sharjah has won many accolades in this regard.

This has resulted in huge participation & has motivated the people & students to carry out clean up campaigns, Recycling campaigns & various other activities.

Similar to the objective of Beeah I had organized another Recycle – Thon 16 and Further to my ambassador report on collection & deposit of recyclables on 30-Sep-16 an Air – Pollution quiz & a Drawing competition was also organized in order to spread more awareness & imparting of necessary awareness so that children & kids carry in their minds the importance of checking Air – pollution at an early stage & apply the information in their routine life for years to come.

The winners in both the competition ware decorated with medals and Goody bags sponsored by Bee?ah, Sharjah?s leading environmental company spreading its wings all over the UAE. Also the Top three winners in recycling category viz. Paper, Plastic & Cans were honored by Beeah by way of winning certificates from this government organisation.

I designed the quiz keeping in mind the various aspects, children must understand & know about Air – pollution & its mitigation methods.

The duties were assigned to the reputed mothers of some members of my group to judge the answers to the quiz and to judge the drawings made by young ones.

Kids studying in KG1 to early primary, made beautiful drawings to indicate the causes of Air – Pollution & their remedies. The elder children participated in the quiz & wrote unique ways to reduce Air – Pollution. A young girl of 11 years Mythri Muralikannan remarked that adding filters to the chimneys reduces the harmful emission from factories. Nupur Khatri, a girl of 12 years said that using vehicles over short distances causes Air – Pollution. Albira Khan a Grade 11 girl commented that use of electric cars reduces Air – Pollution. A grade 8 boy Anish Kumbhar stated that bursting of crackers causes Air – Pollution. These remarks depicts the awareness & dedication of youth of tomorrow towards caring of environment & understanding & controlling Air – Pollution.

It was easy to mark the winners of the quiz as it was a multiple choice test but judging the drawings was a tough test as all children depicted their best of creativity in terms of drawings.

One may not be very proficient in art but intent & spirit is what that counts. The judges were overwhelmed by the beauty & innocence behind the beautiful art effects.

Air-Pollution is a menace that is affection major population of the world & its spreading its wings to a dangerous proportion.

I am attaching all the artwork for your viewing & let?s again pledge to curb air pollution in our respective regions.
