![]() The world face two major problems today: how to meet the needs of an increasing population and how to improve the environment, without a healthy, productive environment we will not be able to feed the people of the world. Trees help us to solve these problems. Since the beginning, trees have furnished us with two of life's essentials, food and oxygen. As we evolved, they provided additional necessities such as shelter, medicine, and tools. Today, their value continues to increase and more benefits of trees are being discovered as their role expands to satisfy the needs created by our modern lifestyle. we cannot ignore what tree give to earth when it rise high up to sky to prevent us from erosion and help in oxygen cycle. Today great efforts are being made to raise people's awareness of the importance of trees and forests. In Sudan we need to make an effort to save trees, because it is another victim of Darfur war. War make us lose a lot, and repair need a big effort. Trees have socioal,economic, cultural and environmental benefit since living creature stay alive by oxygen provided by photosynthesis done by plants it maintains the continuation of the universe. The sacred position of the tree in human life is an endless story. The Holy Koran speaks about ascension of Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) to the 7th sky in the company with the angel Gabriel, ending at Sidrat al-Muntaha which is a tree in heaven where people of piety are made to stay for ever. Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) order Muslims according to the Hadith: " a person possessing a plant in hand must plant it even if it was the day of judgement". From this point if we properly use forest resources then we can lead to the development of the land and improvement in living stander. Trees are source of fodder for cattle and a source of certain substance for medicine the harvesting and processing of forest products creates employment, bring income and hard currency. This money can be spent to by more and better food. Not: money doesn't grow on trees. References: |
