Mangrove and Lamun Plantation

by | 07-10-2016 22:51

To adapt with nature condition, the mangrove in pramuka Island planted using "Clump-in-distance" in Bahasa Rumpun-Berjarak. The amount of mangrove plant for each clump is 500 with 2x4 meter wide. The distance among the clump is at least 2m.  The species of mangrove found is Avicennia, Micronata, and Rhyzopora stylosa.

Lamun ( sea-grass) plant using transect method with number 5x3. The sea-grass will be tied using paper-tissue ( because its degradable) located downside so when we plant it , the base will touch sand of the sea.

Not only actively do conservation, Pramuka Island also develop eco-preneurship for their communities. They experienced difficulties in obtaining fresh vegetable ( they have to use boat to go to city, otherwise the price is expensive), they also experienced polluted water. From this experience, 10 years ago until now they develop an eco-preneurship using plastic waste. They use the plastic waste to produce innovative product with economy value as alternatif source of income, then they open a Green Bank to maintain the documentation of ownership of the waste. They also build a hidrophonic installation to provide fresh and nutritious vegetable for them. We can find all this goods in a Education & Conservation Forest.
