Beach Sand Mining in Liberia

The mining of beach sand in Liberia is at a higher pace, which needs to be stopped.

People mining sand on the beach here in Liberia do not have permit from the agency in charge but rather go on digging out the sand on the beach for personal and domestic use.

n  It last happened that the mining of beach sand have caused many damages because for every time a person mines the sand on the beach the sea water leaves where it is and will be encroaching upon land. This caused a lot of people to be homeless, died, and many different casualties.

My Recommendations

I recommend that the Liberian government should have strong laws that governed the beach.

Before anyone mines sand on the beach they should get permit from the Agency or governmental entity in charge.

As Tunza Eco- Generation member, who wants to save and protect the earth, will take the initiatives to carried on an awareness to others to stopped the mining of sand on the beach in order to have a save environment.
