UAE has a limited stock of natural resources with a very high energy consumption rate. Therefore it is incumbent form this fact that it is the duty of all of us to reduce our consumption to a limit which produces carbon footprint that is within the assimilating capacity of Mother Nature. We all are supposed to reduce, reuse and recycle. I collect and segregate recyclables in my community that also helps us to bring a step closer to combat the increasing levels of landfills. I promote the collection of paper, glass, toners, plastic, mobile phones, beverage cartons, aluminum cans and batteries for protecting and preserving the natural resources in the UAE. Many Environmental Organisations listed below are working towards building a sustainable world.

1. Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) Tel: +971-4-344-8622

The Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) is a non-governmental group in Dubai, UAE. This group is devoted to protecting the environment through the means of education, action programs and community involvement. It is the first environmental NGO in the world to be ISO 14001 certified and the only organization of its kind in the UAE with accredited status to the United Nations Convention to Combating Desertification (UNCCD) and the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). EEG is also a member of the International Union of Conservation for Nature (IUCN). The overall objective of EEG is to contribute positively to the advancement of sustainable development in Dubai and the UAE.

 Emirates Wildlife Society is a non-profit environmental organization in the United Arab Emirates, EWS has been working in association with WWF and is known as EWS-WWF. EWS-WWF works with people and institutions in the UAE, to conserve biodiversity, tackle climate change and reduce the ecological footprint through education, awareness and science-based conservation initiatives. These are supported by communication initiative environmental issues.

NGO in Dubai, dealing with marine & terrestrial environmental issues protects endangered wildlife & ecosystems, participates in conservation efforts, research, environmental education

 Government agency with the overall function of protecting and conserving the environment as well as promoting sustainable development in the emirate of Abu Dhabi assists in implementing environmental laws.

9. Breeding Centre for Endangered Arabian Wildlife

 Centre in Sharjah set up to establish and maintain a genetically healthy and viable stock of endangered Arabian wildlife site has details of animals being bred the centre has also an attached public zoo called Arabia's Wildlife Centre

I feel in order to sustain our environment for a longer period of time, it is necessary for us to undermine the exponential increase in the emission of greenhouse gases and individual carbon footprint by bringing small changes in our lifestyles. The judicious use of resources in most efficient and useful manner will make a country conserve its resources which itself will lead to sustainability.
