What you can do to prevent species extinction

by | 16-09-2016 20:46

In biology and ecology, extinction is the end of an organism or of a group of organisms (taxon), normally a species.

More than 99 percent of all species, amounting to over five billion species, that ever lived on Earth are estimated to be extinct. Estimates on the number of Earth's current species range from 10 million to 14 million, of which about 1.2 million have been documented and over 86 percent have not yet been  described.

This what you can do to prevent species extension:

1.Spread the word to your relatives and social media circle.

2. Reduce your carbon footprint.

3. Buy products from companies committed to using sustainably produced oil in their products.

4. Get involved in helping conservation organizations

According to the United Nations Environmental Program and the World Conservation Monitoring Centre, and International Union for Conservation of Nature, Red List of Threatened Species,  Turkey has 16 endangered mammals.  Check out your country endangered mammals here: http://data.worldbank.org/indicator
