Joshua Amponsem is a young environmental leader and climate advocate with a Bsc degree in Environmental science. #MyGreenStory 4. I am also a volunteer by passion as it has helped me gained so much #skills and #experience. Also a #SocialMedia enthusiast! #MyGreenStory 5. Although mostly working on environmental issues, I do support social impact projects during my leisure time. @kingzicor #MyGreenStory 6. I strongly believe in our generation. The youth of today are engineering a revolution of entrepreneurship, and social change. #MyGreenStory 7. So lets get to my story of environmental activism. Where does the motivation comes from? It all started in the University. #MyGreenStory8. The passion emanated when I took a course on coastal zone management & realised how depleting Ghana's coastal resources are. #MyGreenStory 9. Since the university was based in a #coastal area, I could feel the direct impact of #society on coastal #ecological resources #MyGreenStory 10. One major factor was mentorship. I had some great mentors whom I owe my story to. Dr. Michael Miyittah and Dr. Denis Aheto #MyGreenStory 11. Youth Mentors also strengthened my passion. @wrathymarcel & @jamaljaygreen I thank you for your dedicated support. #MyGreenStory 12. After understanding so much on #ClimateChange from my youth & academic mentors. I started acting as an environmental activist #MyGreenStory 13. I started acting on my passion by co-founding @Ecoscript with a course mate @OkatsieGH - a great social leader he was! #MyGreenStory 14. Soon after @Ecoscript we had our first partnership with @gyemgh during #Powershiftgh (pic) #MyGreenStory 15. Then, I joined with @AlugnoaNDesmond & Dr. @WellmannGwen to found @gayoghana which is now championing environmental education. #MyGreenStory 16. The journey has not been so smooth. Lots of financial & organizational challenges. Bureaucracy when you try to connote change #MyGreenStory 17. I overcame financial hurdles by working with committed individuals. Dedicated people will follow you even when you're broke. #MyGreenStory 18. @wrathymarcel and @jamaljaygreen has been an inspiration in organization management. I love you, mentors. #TeamGreen #MyGreenStory 19. Wonderful opportunities & tasks awaits young environmental activists. As Samsung's @Eco_gen ambassador has been my favourite. #MyGreenStory 20. Volunteering & working for many organizations have been very challenging & hectic. But I love to do so cos it widens my impact #MyGreenStory 21. #WFDChat #AntiPlasticCampaign #PowerShiftGh #NoCoal2Gh are some of the projects I have worked on with great organizations #MyGreenStory 22. Our #NoCoal2Gh campaign w/@gyemgh is protecting millions of lives from the health & ecological impacts of coal power plants. #MyGreenStory 23. Working with @Eco_gen I have organized countless environmental education outreach for rural communities & schools. #MyGreenStory @rasbugri 24. Glad to say, I am spreading news on #ClimateChange in Ghana and beyond. #MyGreenStory 25. Still the Vice President of India's global @greenyouthgengh . I mentor young change makers to implement their projects. #MyGreenStory 26. Every artist was first an amateur - Ralph Waldo Emerson said. We can all become green champions someday. #MyGreenStory 27. Thank you for joining me as I shared #MyGreenStory. Thank you to @@AyoAtitebi and all young Nigerian environmentalists who joined. |
