MY SEMINAR IN ROGE PRIMARY SCHOOLby | 10-08-2016 23:37 |

It was a bright and clear day, as the students of Roge primary school were eager for the seminar to start. I planned the seminar in collaboration with the local administration and the school principal in an attempt to educate the students on the importance of conservation. An invited local conservationist was the first one to take the stage. His name was Mr. Alemu kena and he works for an NGO that focuses on environmental issues. He began by thanking TUNZA Eco-generation and the local administration for organizing such an event. He went on to emphasize how climate change and the conservation of the environment are important for the survival of the next generation.
The next speaker was an environmental science teacher who had an experience organizing environmental campaigns for the primary school. His speech was mainly focused on what the students can do to conserve the environment. He talked about the importance of planting trees and clean energy.
More than 50 students attended the seminar and told me that they were happy with the seminar. I also held a Q&A contest between the students whereby 22 students were selected as winners and were awarded a writing pen. The students were also glad to know that the Pen was sponsored by TUNZA Eco-generation.
I was eager to share the images and video that I recorded on the seminar. Unfortunately, the memory card of my camera was damaged and the whole thing was lost. As sad as that sounds, I hope I will share the pictures I?ll take on my next seminar. I would like to thank TUNZA Eco-generation for the banner and pens that they generously provided for the successful happening of the seminar. |
