![]() Environment-friendly cable cars in Turkey's Black Sea Region
A cable car is any of a variety of transportation systems relying on cables to pull vehicles along or lower them at a steady rate. The cable car vehicles are motorless and engineless and they are pulled by a cable that is rotated by a motor off-board. In one word, the cable car is environmentally friendly. Turkey, committed to sustainable tourism has decided to use environmentally friendly facilities in all its touristic destinations, the implementation has just started this week as said the 12th Region Director of Nature Conservation and National Parks Mr Bulut. New cable cars are due to be operated by 2017 in the most visited places in the Black Sea region, including the historic Sümela Monastery in Trabzon Maçka district, the world famous Uzungöl in the Çaykara district, the Karşyaka Nature Park in Gümüşhane, and the Kaçkar Mountains in Rize. Turkey does not have a strong eco-tourism environment as Botswana, Kenya or Ecuador. This situation is lamentable. This situation must change if the state wants to be the first tourism destination in the world. Hoping all countries use environmentally actions and systems to solve sustainable issues. |
