I am sure that most of us often go out with our friends or families for a picnic or camping. Sometimes, we cannot prepare enough food and must buy the food sold on the way. These foods are usually packed in Styrofoam boxes. The problem is that when we dispose the boxes, they are hardly broken in natural environment. Another bad point is that if we keep hot food or fat, salty food in these boxes, many poisonous substances harmful for our health will be created.

Therefore, using leaf bowls will be a very effective solution for the problems mentioned above. In fact, these types of bowls have been used widely in Nepal and India. However, just recently, a professor from Thailand has changed a bit the producing process to make a type of leaf bowl that can keep even hot water without being licked. They have tried to popularize the use of the special bowls by introducing them in some Thailand festivals or fairs this year.

The professor named Samorn Hiranpraditsakul with her research team worked enthusiastically to find out the three best types of leaves for making bowl: bastard teak, teak and banyan. With these materials, we can put hot food insides and the bowl will not be broken. Specially, after being disposed, the bowl can be easily broken down after a period of time.

I hope that in the near future, this kind of bowl will be popular in more countries including my beloved one-Vietnam and many others in the world. Then, we will be less nervous about the treatment for the garbage of the food industry.
