![]() ![]() ![]() On the occasion of World Tabacco Day (31 st may), I organized an anti-smoking campaign at Dubai Outlet Mall as a part of its health camp from 26 th May to 31 st May, 2016. The interactive awareness campaign included different programs including skits, presentations and seminars. Young members of my youth group, Green Globe, gave awareness speeches to mall visitors on the ill effects of smoking in order to build a healthy future. I feel each one of us has a responsibility for our planet. Every year, some 480,000 people die an early, premature death because of tobacco use. W I hope make an important contribution to reducing the toll of preventable death, disease and disability from cigarettes and tobacco use. I also organize many anti-smoking and alcohol awareness campaign for labourers regularly in numerous labour camps and was very successful in educating the labourers. Through my campaigns I have positively impacted over 5000 labourers. Particulate Matter are major components of cigarette smoke and can enter deep into the lung where they can cause serious health problems Cigarettes are an extremely potent source of air pollution for its small size. In fact, a single cigarette smoked indoors is equivalent to exposure of toxic pollutants, causing concentrations indoors often higher than the prescribed air quality standards outdoors. Their message was well received by the mall visitors. I hope to conduct more such campaigns to eradicate this evil. Activities like these instigate the society?s interest towards such issues and creates a sense of responsibility towards the collective well being of the society. I also used the opportunity to spread information about Tunza to my Group members as well as to the little kids visiting the mall. I distributed the Tunza Information Pamphlets too. I encourage all E-gen members to contribute in his or her own way to take this movement to the next level.
