Climate Change

by Anishka Jha | 21-06-2016 00:00

The global effort to fight climate change began in 1992, when countries around the world joined an international treaty aimed at preventing dangerous climate change.

The European Commission is responsible for 9% of global emissions while China accounts for 25% and the US for 11%.

In September 2014, the largest-ever meeting of world leaders to discuss climate change took place in New York. Some 400,000 people took to the streets in support of climate action. This was the biggest single climate march in history.
