![]() ![]() Greeting to the entire tunza family! Today, I am delighted to share with all of you that on the 5th of June (i.e, World Environment Day), I was awarded the Sharjah Environment Awareness Award 2016 for Outstanding Individual Achievement for my environmental action and awareness initiatives over the past year. The award programme aims to increase environmental awareness among students in nurseries and in kindergarten to Grade 12, and encourage the youth to actively participate in environmental educational activities within their school systems and promote self-initiative. The award also recognizes and promotes environmental education amongst students of all categories for the acquisition of values, knowledge and skills that lead to behavioural change that support the school and environment in a positive manner. It aims to instill values of positive behaviour and the sense of responsibility among all students in accordance with sound environmental practices and simultaneously encourages all students to actively participate in their schools? environmental activities and promote their own initiatives. Subsequently, this also promotes students? attitudes towards greening their school through plantation initiatives and urges schools to adopt creative initiatives in the field of the environment. While I won the second place, I am also glad to share that our active ambassador Arushi Madan won the first place in the category. Certainly, the award has now inspired me not only to continue but also to accelerate my green efforts towards a calamity-ridden, greener and a more sustainable tomorrow. In fact, after the award ceremony, to commemorate the WED 2016, I conducted an Energy Conservation Students Workshop along with my We Care team of young environmentalists, later that day. (Posted on the Ambassador Report Page) Lastly, I wish to extend a big thank you to the entire Tunza family once again, for being an endless source of inspiration, support and guidance in all my endeavors, programs and initiatives and shaping the environmental leader I am today.
