![]() ![]() As Muslims we are required to fast from sunrise to the sunset everyday for the entire month of Ramdan in the Arabic Lunar calendar. One of the many reasons we fast is because it helps us to experience how the disadvantaged population feel. They face hardships on a daily basis as most of they do not even have two proper meals a day. Ramadan is also a time for going deeds and providing service to the community. This year I wanted to do something for my community. I was quite fortunate that the delivery of goodies from Tunza eco generation arrived during this time. Since my friend Afifa worked at Asroy, a school that provides free education to children from poor families , I decided to go there and share some time with them. Asroy was founded in the year 2009 and it is located near the Hazaribagh area of Dhaka. Asroy teaches various subjects to the children including Arabic, art, maths and English. It was a great experience to witness how this school operated. Not to mention the smiles of the kids after receiving the goodies of Tunza was the best thing I have seen in a while. They were really happy with the goodies and showed enthusiasm to perform better in studies. All in all I had a great time at Asroy. And I am really glad that I was able to share the morning so many children in the holy month of Ramadan. I am really looking forward to organizing more campaigns for Tunza in the future! |
