On the occasion of earth day , people all over the globe come together to do certain things to show their gratitude and affection towards the mother nature .

Many events , awareness campaigns are held , campaigns are started , trees are plantes,  on this day.

In my city Amritsar an NGO named Dilbir Foundation have started a campaign for water conservation throughout the summer.

As Amritsar is the 9th most polluted city in India , these organizations are also taking steps against the air pollution.

As the theme for this Earth day was Trees4Earth, the Foundation so conjoined with EcoAmritsar in a campaign that preaches to plant trees in the city . 

The chairman of Dilbir Foundation , who is also the chairmain of WWF-India(punjab) requested the residents to join the campaign.

Also many schools in the city  celebrated the Earth Day in their respective ways.

Plantation drives were carried out at schools , government institutions and self help communities .
