E5 is known as gasohol – a mixture of 95% gasoline and 5% ethanol. 5% ethanol is derived from agricultural waste, animal fat, sawdust and so on.

Using E5 is a good way to utilize biological waste. Besides, the machine running with this kind of fuel emits less emission to the environment.   

According to some Vietnamese researchers, E5 is appropriate to many kinds of motorbike machines. Moreover, the price of E5 is also cheaper than traditional gas. In the long run, using E5 is both economical and friendly to environment. Many institutions and scientists in Vietnam are investigating the method to improve available engines so that the motorbikes running with E5 can reach their fullest extent of their efficiency.

Nowadays, many provinces and cities in Vietnam like Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong have taken measures to encourage their citizens to use E5. The target set by the authorities was that at least 50% out of the gasoline retailers could provide E5 by June 2016. This shows great effort of Vietnam in heading to sustainable development and reducing green-house effect.
