![]() There are many ways that we can raise our voices and roll up our sleeves to help the planet. Here in California, there is going to be a unique art show later this month in San Francisco, focused on the environment. The show will include works that cover concerns about many of the environmental crises we all face today, such as global warming, our responsibility toward nature, and raise environmental awareness of the community. They are accepting digital submissions through March 18th to participate in the show and are encouraging international participation. Visit us here in San Francisco through your artwork! The Rite of Passage show will be projected on video projectors, screens and monitors at San Francisco City Hall on March 25, 2016, as part of Nowruz, a traditional Iranian celebrating spring and the Persian new year. There is an open artist call right now until March 18, 2016 to participate in this show, so if you are over 18 and can submit your work digitally, you can be considered for the show at no cost. Since it is an all-digital show, there is no concern about shipping artwork. They are seeking artwork in various mediums including photography, digital art, video art, mixed media, and painting. Participation is open to artists (18 years and older) internationally at any level with any medium and style. Entries will be curated and selected based on their relevance to theme, creativity, and cultural expressions. More details/submissions are here: Rite of Passage Exhibit Call/Submission Coinciding with spring and Nowruz, the exhibition demonstrates the rooted attitude of respect and honor in Iranian culture regarding nature as well as stewardship of the natural environment through the international community.
They are looking for works that reflect the unique cultural, spiritual, and creative interpretations of artists who have been working directly in their natural environment or have implemented nature in their art through their creative expression. As their personal investigations also express the self in relation to this environment, we hope to expand and create a new conversation between environmental art and personal spirituality.
