In Algeria, Bread is consumed significantly,It revealed the periodic reports issued by international bodies, including the United Nations Organization for Agriculture and Development and other organizations in algeria that the share of consumption of bread in Algeria, ranging from 65 to 70 million Baguette (a long thin loaf of French bread), at a rate of 1.8 loaf of Baguette per person per day.In the absence of consumption culture, wasting bread is continuing. Official statistics show that an average of 2.7 million bread does not consume daily, and be doomed either to poultry farmers, livestock or even garbage.

University restaurants considered one of the largest  "waste cells," which affects the  bread on a daily basis,where the organizers of these restaurants contract with bakeries to bring endless amounts of bread at a rate of at least one Baguette for each student, and given the large number of students the amount of wasted bread is greater than the consumed. The same thing is happening in the various university hospitals. In school canteens, school districts rely on studies before the acquisition of any quantities of bread, ranging from 40 to 45 Baguette for every 100 pupils.

Some waste collection establishments, especially in the capital, sort bread from other wastes, to restore and sell it to cattle breeders and poultry , but the only solution is consolidating the culture of consumption and avoid wasting.
