[March Thematic Report] Wildlife Preservation

by Heidy Michell Albor Vargas | 01-04-2023 01:56

Wildlife Preservation
Wildlife is the living organisms that exist.
Flora and fauna are primarily impacted by human activities which encroach on their habitats.
Who cares about them?
Tourism is the largest sector in the global economy generating $3.6 trillion in economic activity and 8% of jobs annually worldwide.
Wildlife-related tourism is classified as ecotourism.
And ecotourism is necessary because wildlife is part of the entire package of a travelling experience.
This growth and development endanger the habitats and existence of various types of wildlife that may be displaced for land development, or other human monetary purposes.
Wildlife preservation is protecting and conserving the natural habitats and species that inhabit them and it is essential for maintaining biodiversity.
What can we do?
Conservation programs should be established not only by the state but also by the agents that directly affect wildlife (factories and businesses)
These programs involve habitat restoration, breeding, and research efforts, which are essential for conserving and protecting wildlife.
We can also help reduce our carbon footprint by adopting eco-friendly practices or even by deleting emails.
Wildlife preservation is crucial for maintaining the balance and diversity of our ecosystems and by raising awareness we will be able to demand the establishment of protected areas, implement programs and ensure a habitable planet.
