I was surprised while I randomly took a turn into the depths of a narrow street in my city. I had expected to find a calmer place a few metres down the street. But, the scene hurt like sands in the eyes. There was nothing but the metal roads and concrete houses. Some of the big plants and small trees which had grown out on the sides of the street were being choked by stone-chips that were heaped on, and around them.
Everybody has used once every bit of soil to erect tall buildings. Instantly I knew what we mean by "a jungle of concretes". a little further I found a single house which was having some plants and tree. Initially, the leaves appeared to be green but when I looked closer I found the Green was not actually Green, it had taken a strong Yellow hue.
Months of pollution mainly spreading itself on the leaves in the form of half-burnt Carbon materials, coming out of vehicle exhausts, were doing irreparable damage. Let us imagine a world where Green leaves are no Green, they take some other greenish colour. A time may come when children living in cities may never see the true beautiful Green colours of leaves. The whole world tried desperately to come toa functional understanding for handling the nature. The deliberations at Paris in December 2015 on Climate Change ended on an ambitious note. The onus has again come on under-developed and developing nations rather than on developed nations whose development has come through exploitation of nature.
Let us hope very soon we arrive at a more workable condition and understanding where under-developed and developing nations get real support from developed nations to work for preservation of the natural environment.
