THE CHAIRPERSON (BISPO)'S IMPRESSIONS – 2016 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit

by Luiz Bispo | 03-02-2016 19:46

Indeed, joining the 2016 Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit in Seoul (Korea) was a great experience for me. It was my first time leading and being a reference among a lot of inspiring children and youth.

As a chairperson, I was able to guide high school students (delegates) and very active future leaders to research regarding certain stakeholder such as developed countries, developing countries, industries, academic experts and NGOs.

The delegates were required to write a position paper related to their established stakeholder before head to Seoul. The delegates and me as a chairperson started to build up and put a great effort to make the best summit in their own countries.

We exchanged a lot of e-mails about the theme, the Model United Nation Plan (summit running base), tips for a better writing and referencing for the position paper. It enabled us to understand more about the summit subjects and duties, to be more responsible and to help us know each other.

While driving up the event in the front stage, I realized myself that I have improved outstandingly by achieving the tasks given. Furthermore, I believe that the delegates who attended this very meaningful summit have built experience, knowledge and friendship. I could feel they were very keen to make a good resolution and to elaborate significant arguments regarding the stakeholders and cooperation for a better world.

The staff members of Samsung Engineering and Korea Green Foundation were very inspiring and kind.

It was very nice on meeting people from different parts of the planet. What a great experience on sharing stories, hearing different accents, observing behaviors etc! I felt very glad about my achievement and also on seeing the future young leaders in action.
