![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First of all , let me wish all of you and your loved ones a very happy , fulfilling and great New Year. May this year bring you lots of happiness and good luck. The end of a year is an opportunity to reflect on one's accomplishments, actions and struggles over the last twelve months. The beginning of a new year provides a chance to put one's goals into clearer focus and evaluate plans to achieve them. New year is often a time to commit to making changes in life for the better. It can be a time to get inspired, commit and make a new start. Making new year resolutions is a great idea because it ushers in a desire within ourselves for better tomorrow. My (Green) Resolutions for 2016 are : Cut down on paper towels/tissue papers. My New year resolution is to stop using tissue papers and paper towels in our home. Paper comes from trees and we must minimize paper use/wastage to save trees and hence protect environment. I and my family will use cotton cloths , fabric duster but no tissue papers at all. Currently we use paper towel and tissues for everything from wiping up spills , cleaning nose, cleaning counter , scrubbing bathroom and cleaning our hands but it's time to make a change for the sake of environment. Using the cloth alternatives is just as easy as using the paper versions, and we only need to buy them once — plus we can help eliminate the 3,000 tons of paper tissues that end up landfills every day. Unclutter my wardrobes every week I would get the clutter out regularly every week— while feeling good about reducing, sharing the stuff I don't need by giving away goods to charity, or for recycling. This will be good for environment also as it will reduce the load on ACs.
Have you made your Green Resolution? If not , why not make and inspire and encourage others too to make. Don't only make green resolutions but also execute and one year later be proud of yourself of having helped the environment through your Green Resolution. I have tried to encourage and inspire others by sharing my Green Resolution through my social media pages and through newspapers columns.
