YOUTH CLIMATE CHANGE AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME

OYEMEKUN GRAMMAR SCHOOL AKURE, ONDO STATE, NIGERIA.

It was a memorable day for the students of Oyemekun grammar school in the Climate Change and Leadership Programme. The event kicked off at about 12: 00pm and ??asted for about an hour and half. The total attendance was 25 with three staff in attendance. Short Enlightening Videos were shown at interval on the real concept of Climate change and the effects it has on various aspect of the economy of Nigeria. Furthermore, The event was graced by the two-term 14th Regional Ambassador to Nigeria, Barr. Ayomide Atitebi who gave an elaborate and eye-opening talk on the concept of Leadership and becoming the pioneers of the next generation?s set of Leaders in various aspect of their endeavours.

 The students (All boys school) were excited and showed keen interest in becoming a part of the environmental team. One of the major points stressed is the need for a generation that will be conscious of the environment especially in terms of waste management, aforestation and protection of wildlife resources. Explanatory and expository videos of were projected for better understanding and assimilation.

The immediate past regional ambassador took the participant on the timeline and history of great men who has made major impact in different sectors of the world?s economy. He encouraged the student to harness the great potentials within them. He further explained TUNZA Eco-generation as a leading platform where youths all around the world network to share ground-breaking ideas with the world. The students were really encourage and showed profound interest in being a part of the platform.

The event was concluded with a vote of thanks to Tunza Ambassador and TUNZA Eco-generation for the success of the event. Presentation of gift items to VIPs, the Head of Department Geography and the HOD, Guidance and counseling unit. Distribution of the Pen, Post-it and souvenir to students followed. Group photograph was taken with the students and the chief speaker.
