![]() ![]() Trees are the green infrastructure, that provide measurable environmental benefits for a city. Today, leading sixty present group members of SynergY, finding the support of Dubai Municipality, Accor, Goumbook, Give a Ghaf Tree planting, in planting 400 Ghaf trees at Al Qusais Landfill site under the continued Plant for the Planet campaign, I am enthused seeing the enthusiasm in the younger Dubaites, SynergY team truly makes my heart swell with happiness and pride. The Plant for the Planet program of Accor is unique as the hotels donate half of their laundry budget savings to finance reforestation projects. Mostly the participants in the youth group are bright school going children who are learning the true meaning of the environment, landfill sites, waste management and benefits of planting trees by the real climate action. At SynergY, each day, we are finding creative and innovative ways to learn and share about the Global Goals by effectively and systematically participating in the realization and implanting of these in all possible activities and extra curricular events. I proudly share the success story of the biggest national tree planting by youth, leading to unify this young brigade in my capacity as Plant for the Planet Ambassador, Sustainability Ambassador Dubai Municipality and founder of the youth group SynergY. I stay wishful that our efforts of conservation and planting Ghaf trees will enrich the environment as The Ghaf, also known as the tree of the dunes is a solution to desertification.
