The conservation efforts of UAE are not only limited to the UAE. They are spread all over the GCC & even beyond as well. In order to save wild animals from extinction they initiated a project in Jordan. It was to protect Ibex, a large mountain goat found in these areas. The success of the initiative can be derived from the fact that as many as 100 Ibex were released in the wilderness of Wadi Rum nature reserve in southern Jordan. This project was also aimed to raise awareness of the ibex?s importance to the community living close to the reserve in order to prevent poaching or over-hunting of the animals.

This great number of this beautiful animal will attract tourists also & this will help to augment the wild population & help in protect & conserve wildlife in a better way.

Therefore, once again UAE has proved to be in forefront in the region & elsewhere as well to protect & preserve the wildlife & save these nature?s gems from extinction. Here poaching is totally banned & is unheard of. Besides heavy penalties are imposed.
