As an Ambassador of TMS, Dubai in the Clean Up Sharjah Campaign 2015 to support Bee?ah, I raised environmental awareness amongst Sharjah residents on Recycling. The amount of rubbish generated per individual is constantly increasing as people are buying more products and ultimately creating more waste, so campaigns like this have a positive impact on the lifestyle of an individual and plays a crucial role in diverting the amount of waste headed to landfills. 

Recycling means to collect segregate and process recyclable materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and turn them into new products. When we recycle, used materials are converted into new products. If these used products are not recycled, then new products are made by extracting fresh raw materials from the Earth.

Recycling saves a huge amount of energy because making products from raw materials costs much more than when products are made from recycled products. Therefore, this helps to preserve natural resources and sustain the environment for future generations.

Recycling prevents pollution as it reduces the need to collect new raw materials for industries. More energy is required to extract, refine, transport and process raw materials than getting those reusable raw materials from recycled ones. Ultimately it helps in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.

This event helped us to gather tons of recyclable materials ranging from newspapers, aluminium cans, plastic bottles and other material made from plastic.

I also promoted Tunza Eco Generation among the huge crowd that was present at the event. It was a well spent day with environmental enthusiasts of all age groups.
