This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, an important milestone in the protection of the ozone layer. The theme for the celebration of the anniversary and this year?s International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer to be marked on 16 September is, ?30 years of healing the ozone together.? The theme is supported by the slogan, ?Ozone: All there is between you and UV.?

On this occasion, The House of Environment  of Bordj Bou Arreridj state organized a rich program with the members of an environmental school club included a lecture on the phenomenon, drawing workshop, Afforestation campaign With the participation of Environment Directorate, Forest province, Tourism Guidance Center and Branch of National Centre for Cleaner Production Technologies.

In Saïda state, association Life for Environment and Tourism organized a sensitizing day attended by representatives from the Environment Directorate, included tapes, animated, environmental activities, cultural competitions for the members of the environmental Clubs,  interventions by participants and afforestation campaign in addition to the program organized by the Environment Directorate which included : a documentary film about the ozone layer and another on the components of the atmosphere , a presentation on the Convention on the ozone and causes of air pollution and the proposed solutions to reduce the proportion of use of CFCs , presentation about nature reserve of  Saïda and its importance, interventions about air pollution, inauguration of environmental club at a primary school, distribution of brochures  about the International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, all this with the media coverage of the event via Saïda Regional Radio.
