![]() India, a country with rich culture and a heritage that we all should be proud of. But have we ever asked ourselves what it feels to be an indian? how it feels to be part of India? To live in this glorious country? The answer is subjective, Because it depends on where we live, how Much we earn, which social background we belong even depends on our gender. Belonging to an upper middle class family, I have spend my 18 years in different kind of inda. India where we find dominos at each street corner, good food, good life, education for all. But coming to Delhi broke that she'll where I was living. I could see the real India . India that was hidden beneath those walls that my parents created with money that they had. Walking down the roads of Delhi I don't only saw poverty I felt it, the helplessness of having nothing. I saw children sleep on streets, selling pen instead of going school, I saw hunger starvation. I saw the real India. I good in remembering statistics I know 1- India is second most populated country 2-23.6% Indian population lives below $1.25per day 3-every 1 out of 5 children suffers from malnutrition. I know all the statistics but that's not enough. Till how long with it be a statistics to us. They are not a number or some graph drawn with arrows pointing downward. They are human being they too have right to live a better life. I want to work for them, for the society. I want to know the name of that one child who suffers from malnutrition because I know that child has a name. And he is not just a number. |
