There are many benefits of going green. But before examining the benefits, it is important for you to understand what going green means.
Basically, green living refers to a way of life that contributes towards maintaining the natural ecological balance in the environment, and preserving the planet and its natural systems and resources.

There are many things you can do to live a green life, amongst which you can help by:

  • reducing pollution ,
  • conserving natural resources,
  • recycling non-biodegradable products,
  • contributing to conservation of forests and wildlife,
  • cultivating more plants and trees in vacant lands, and
  • helping to maintain the ecological balance on the earth, so that all living beings can survive and thrive in their natural habitat.

I was travelling from Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana and I came to pass Kibi or Kyebi is a town and the capital of the East Akim Municipal District, a district in the Eastern Region of south Ghana, on the eastern slopes of the Atewa Range. I fell in love with the place instantly due to the greenness of the area. The power of technology, I quickly use my Google map turned it into satellite view to see how greenish the area is.
One unique thing about the community is that they don?t destroy vegetation and plants there. When descending from the mountain and the view along will let you appreciate how wonderful nature is. Living in that particular area will make you have a healthier life, because the quality of our air definitely has an impact on our health.

Climate change has caused death and diseases all over the world, through natural disasters such as heat-waves, floods and droughts. In addition, many diseases (eg. vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue) that are highly sensitive to changing temperatures and precipitation have become more rampant in vulnerable areas like developing countries with poor sanitation and densely populated areas. Thumbs up for Kibi for living green!!!
