Problems and its remedy

by | 31-08-2015 00:43

Environment defined on Google as the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates. On looking at the Ghanaian environment, we all can notice that there are some problems in the environment, more pressing is the management of waste in the country. But like other problems, there are solutions to the problems we face in our environment.

To start with, throwing away of rubber waste in the country is very poor. People just throw rubbers especially ?sachet rubbers? away anyhow thereby littering the streets, roads, markets and everywhere and when this happens and it rains, then mosquitoes are breed, making malaria to spread more and more. To remedy this, the Ghanaian society should be educated on rubber waste management, what happens when rubbers are managed well not.

Another problem that needs urgent attention is the way gutters, drainage systems in the country are being managed. Though those who work at the ?Zoomlion? Company ( the company that employs people to sweep the country to keep it clean) are doing their possible best, some gutters in the country are still choked and this is due the problem that, there is poor waste management, rubbishes are just dropped in the gutters anyhow. And because of this problem, there is outbreak of cholera and other diseases such as Malaria there is flood too, etc. to solve this, once again the people need to be educated told about the  bad effects of those practices, gutters also needs to be cleaned, choked ones cleared.

One other pressing problem is the too much winning of sand in the country. We all know, sand is needed for building purposes and other things but when we win sand at one site for a long period, erosion will be caused there and due to that erosion that which supposed not to happen, happens. To minimize this, there need to be an education exercise for everyone, but especially those into the sand winning, so they can know how to go about the sand winning to cause not erosion.

Finally, lack of much drainage systems, as we all know, the gutters and drainage systems helps do away with our liquid refuses, but here lies the case that, much drainage system or gutters aren?t in the country and also those there are choked. Thereby making the country members prone to flood. To prevent this, more gutters and drainage systems need to be constructed.

From the foregoing, it can be inferred that, there are environmental problems in the country Ghana which needs attention. There needs to be more clean up exercises done like the one the President said they should do every first Saturday in a month be set aside. We also need much education on waste management. Choked gutters being cleared.it is my fervent hope, that this problem I brought out be considered and worked on.
