Since it's formation in the early 1970s, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) have reported an increase in Wildlife extinction threats estimating upto 300,000 wildlife species facing a detrimental loss by the year 2050.

The Center for Biological Conservation (CBC) has attributed a loss of approximately 30,000 wildlife loss due to human induced activities.

With an ever increasing global warming and other natural environmental catastrophes due to climate change, wildlifes have remarkable suffered a huge loss with regards to drastic changes in their ecosystems. For example in Kenya, the Ministry for Environmental and Wildlife recorded more than 1000 deaths of different wildlife species within Kenya's biggest national parks, this is absolutely alarming. These deaths are often as a result of prolonged lack of water as water sources are dramatically drying up due to unpredictable prolonged droughts, lack of food as vegetations are drying up due to extreme heat coupled with natural wildfires. 

There is therefore a need to find innovative solutions and practical scientific applications such as cloud seeding to mitigate the situation more so in developing countries.

Deforestation has gradually contributed immensely in wildlife ecosystems encroachment and has consequently caused huge loss of life to many wildlife animal species across Africa and beyond. Forests serves as essential and forms an integral part in wildlife existence, growth and balance. Numerous birds species have been reported to have gone extinct with millions struggling to find suitable breeding grounds and growth areas. Debforestation is there a big menace and curtails efforts to preserve wildlifes.

The United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) and other international Wildlife organization such as Wild Wild Fund, Greenpeace Organization and developed countries whom have consistently contributed to a larger percentage of global emissions need to put more wholistic approaches and funding to develop solutions moreso in developing countries to mitigate Wildlife loss. 

Certain elements of treaties and laws governing Environmental conservation and wildlife protection and preservation must be fully implemented and constantly reviewed and scrutinized to look into their suitability to meet current changes and trends used in Environmental conservation and needs of local communities.
