![]() ![]() Water pollution, as we all know, is the contamination of natural water bodies by chemicals and other pathogenic substances. This polluted water becomes the reason for various illness, causing death in many cases. It is considered that water pollution may occur due to natural causes such as sedimentation from severe rainfall. Chemical water pollutants are generally atoms or molecules, discharged into water bodies by human activities. Many of the common inorganic pollutants are produced by non-point sources ,relating to agriculture and high-density urban areas. In this world of factories, oil, plastics, cars and chemicals, some degree of water pollution is certain. It harms the environment which we live in,affecting us and our lives. Damaging the environment ultimately reduce the quality of our own lives, and that surely matters to us! We need a solution to the problem of water pollution. Making people aware is one of the most effective step towards reducing water pollution. Even if one person takes the initiative, others will follow. If you want something done, you have to go and do it yourself. India has a number of historical rivers which were considered pure and sacred once. It was believed that taking dips in the rivers will wash away all your sins. Now, the contaminated, dirty water bodies themselves need cleaning and purification. Keeping all the selfishness aside, we need to think about the common good of people and work for a better, less polluted environment. Nobody can deny the sight of a beautiful, clean and green world. There are generations to come in future and they shouldn't be deprived of seeing a still colourful, natural world. |
