around thirty rare species of protected birds were identified in Hassi El Ghella

No less than 27 species of protected rare birds have been identified recently, at the lagoon resort of Hassi El Ghella , a potentially wetland site of Ain Temouchent province.
This is, among others, the stilt, mallard, coot, gull, little egret, which were counted by a specialized team of Tlemcen National Park, on the sidelines of the celebration of World Migratory Bird Day .
This is a real resurgence of protected migratory birds since more than 1,000 birds were identified by the team, noting that Ain Temouchent province is a passage of these birds between August and January .
A first enumeration action carried out in January 2013, with the same team who has identified 18 bird species protected at four sites.
they are black-necked grebes, herons, mallards, white storks, avocets and sandpipers, in total no less than 565 migratory birds belonging to these 18 protected species were recorded at the restraint sites hills of Ouled Kihal, spa resort of Hassi El Ghella his swamp and its Sebkha.
Sheltered by the lagoon resort of Ain Larbâa the celebration of World Migratory Bird Day led to the organization of a conference on the protection of birds, to which were invited primary schools and middle schools students from  the capital town of daïra Ain Larbâa.
Organized by forest conservation in collaboration with the Director of Education, the National Sanitation Office (ONA), the Police and the National Gendarmerie, the day was also marked by an exhibition of different species migratory birds, as well as documentaries on the theme of projection.
