"Home Grown", An Eco-Nursery in Dubai

by | 06-08-2015 04:03

Ever heard of An Eco Nursery for children? Here in Dubai all unique, powerful & sustainable Environmental initiatives are carried out by the Government & corporates alike. Since 2011, Home Grown, Children?s Eco-Nursery has been very active in imparting the sustainable practices among the children aged 1-4 years. Besides teaching them to recycle it has become a community collection point for waste management as well.

Parents, Neighbours & other members are public are encouraged to drop their recyclables at this nursery located in Umm Suqueim, Dubai. It strives to provide children with a perfect platform to experience and develop their senses in a natural setting. Children are taught to embrace the simple joys of life such as nature walks in their garden, playing in the sand area, gardening in our organic patch or sitting in our outdoor quiet corners observing their surroundings.

Time spent surrounded by nature can promote a sense of balance and calmness in a child and also improves focus, concentration and most importantly health.

Teach them young, is the saying & is rightly followed in case of this nursery that has been awarded many times by Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility awards. Now, Dubai Municipality has installed many recycling bins in this area but still people do contribute with the recyclables from their homes & offices alike.

It serves a twin purpose, Future generations should be held responsible for conscious waste management and children need to learn early the importance of recycling. Both the targets are met considerably by this nursery.

I wish to spread this idea through the powerful medium of Tunza Eco-Generation so that it can be organized in other nations as well where our ever so energetic ambassadors are making all efforts to sustain the greenery of our Mother Earth.

Thanks for reading
