![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What is the most efficient way to raise general awareness about the environment issue? What is the best way to find the sustainable solution in near future? I think the education for the youth is the answer. There is no doubt that knowledge is the one of the important property that we have to offer. The none-profit organization "Casa no bom menino" that I work also focus on environment education through my practical project.
Today I would like to introduce about WWF's conservation efforts for environment education. I have mentioned WWF organization many times in my previous articles. However, I have not covered this organization in detail before. World Wide Fund for Nature launched in 1961 and has became one of the world's largest independent conservation organizations last the 50 years.
Interestingly, the logo of this organization is Panda. They were chosen because of their attractive feature and arrived at London Zoo in the same year when WWF was created. They consider them as symbol of overcoming all language barriers. This organization put an effort to protect biodiversity and accomplish over 100countries on five continents.
In particular, WWF in Brazil has pursued environment education and general awareness. In Sao Paulo, WWF and partners progress the community education as part of conservation projects. It is necessary to have information and skills to make a proper decision for sustainable management of natural resource. Teaching relevant knowledge to local people will be helpful to prevent environmental damage and poverty.
However, unfortunately, even though there are a few promising non formal education projects in Brazil, they have a difficulty continuing a long-term plan and education due to lack of funding and technical resources. I believe that education has a strong power to change the world. I'm also able to have my dream with education in school. I hope that there are many supporters appeared to giving opportunities to the youth.
