February free Report – THE GREEN Gen Z IN VIETNAM

by Thanh Pham | 28-02-2023 07:23

THE NEW GREEN Gen Z IN VIETNAM

A new survey by the Pew Research Center shows that 67% of the Gen Z considers the climate crisis to be one of their biggest concerns. Climate change is a challenge, but also offers many opportunities for the Gen Z.

In recent years, in parallel with the development of society, the living environment is being seriously polluted. Aware of this problem, young people "Gen Z" in Vietnam (the target group with birth years from the mid-1990s to the early 2010s) have actively participated in environmental protection activities. Many environmental protection organizations, green living movements, green trends have been implemented.

It can be mentioned as the movement "Leaving the street" or minimalist fashion and basic clothes to minimize the amount of waste from the garment industry. It is impossible not to mention some organizations because of the typical environment such as GreenID, Greenlife, WWF Vietnam, etc.

These organizations have operated during the past time and have many positive results, spread the way Live green to everyone. For example, in 3 years of operation, the Greenlife organization has collected 500 tons of waste classified at home, organizing 100 events "In exchange for trees", giving nearly 200,000 gifts and trees, attracting more than 123,000 People who are interested and monitor their activities, accompany more than 2 million Vietnamese people in the process of collecting waste and changing their living habits.

I am also a gen Z in my country, perhaps I personally feel the most about the change in the awareness of my friends around me about environmental protection. Although currently, this number in Vietnam in general among young people is not high yet, but I believe that: Even a single match can still make an explosion.

With the hope that, there have been many young people like me in the world, yearning for our green home named ¡°Earth.¡± And It is a fact.

P/s: This is my last report in this term. I want to dedicate these last lines to thank Eco team and two monitors for supporting and helping us during the last 6 months. This is a truly precious experience for me. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. It¡¯s my honor to work with such kind people of ECO team. I wish all the happiest things for both of us.

Best Regard,

Thanh
