Marine is our precious treasure, because our earth is dominated by blue sea. In the sea, we can get many resources that useful for human being. But, because of high demand on marine resources, slowly marine get worse. It can be caused by human activities and the negative impacts are felt by human itself, such as decreasing of marine resources, diseases, and so on.

So, to make people remember on how important is sea, Japan government established Marine Day. Marine day is one of the newest national holiday and and initially it was established at 1995. Actually, before that year, Japan already celebrated Marine day but it was different calendar system and different name.

Every third Monday, in japan, Japanese celebrate Marine day. Based on The Holiday Law, Marine Day means ?to be grateful for for the blessing of the ocean and wish for the prosperity of maritime nation of Japan?. In this time, there are some festivals which are held in the place nearby to sea, especially port cities, all over country.

Even it only one of the way to celebrate Marine day, but by establishing Marine Day, it means that government has carefulness to the ocean. Hope other places can also take a deep consider on marine protection, especially countries which have high natural resources. Should we wait until the last fish in the ocean die? Of course the answer is big no. So, lets care on our marine for better future.
