The Forestry Engineer Day - MY DAY

by Luiz Bispo | 12-07-2015 09:54

12 OF JULY

That is the forestry engineer day and I am proud to be part of this future professional group.

Actually, I am still an undergraduate student but in a few years I shall become in fact a professional.

I chose this course because since my high school period I was used to join a non profit organization called "SOS Mata Atlântica". The entity works out with environmental programs such as regarding to conservation project of planting and also environmental education.

Therefore, I decided to study Forestry. In the course, there are three tracks that studentscan be more attracted and in the future become a dedicated professional. The areas are:

1. Ecology and Conservation
2. Wood Technology
3. Sylviculture

The first one is drived to environmental protection considering factors like animals, plants, soil, air, water resource etc. It develops  the ecological way to manage an specific site.

Wood Technology drives out the products that humans can take out from nature. For instance, to make a table, a chair, a musical instrument and even though wood toys. Furthermore, it works with cellulose and paper technology.

Sylviculture is the part that manage commercial forests. Usually, those forests are made by Eucalyptus and Pine species. It works out with planting, soil fertilization and wood harvesting.

That is a brief introduction about what we do. I am doing forestry and I am glad on doing that.

If someone is interested to the university course I do encourage you to make it because the course is beautiful and so interesting.
