I am addressing this to all environmentalists who want both sides of the game - go green and live well. How do you do that without breaking the bank? This is the first part of a series of advisories advising all environmentalists on how to live well. 

First, you want to use as much water as you can without putting a strain on water supply in your country. Solution: if you live on a plot of land with ample space, build a rainwater storage tank! Rainwater pours down your roof,only to be funnelled into the tank. Filters? No need for that. Rainwater is pretty clean, and if you wish to take extra precaution, buy a UV filter that kills all bacteria and a limestone filter to neutralize acid rain. A big tank can last you for months!
