The newly found species include a color-changing thorny frog a soul-sucking dementor wasp a stealthy wolf snake the 10,000th reptile species discovered in the world a bat with remarkable fangs the world?s second-longest insect two orchids discovered through the wildlife trade, and many more.
The Greater Mekong Region teems with life. In the past seven years, 2 216 new species have been found. These critical natural resources are however under threat. The Greater Mekong is one of the top five threatened biodiversity hotspots in the world. It is threatened by hydropower, road and infrastructure development.
