ENVEX 2015 in Seoul, Korea

by | 09-06-2015 17:56

June 5th is the World Environmental Day. Unfortunately this year, due to MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) going around near Seoul, the scheduled celebration for the WED by UNEP was cancelled. Luckily the Environmental Exhibition called ENVEX Korea 2015 was held as scheduled in Seoul from June 2 to June 5.  The ENVEX was hosted and supported by Korean Environmental Department and the Association of Environment Preservation and almost 250 companies from 22 countries around the world attended the exhibition while brining innovative environment-friendly products.

There was a booth that you can learn the history of environmental protection in Korea. You can see an eco-car with environmental friendly engines.  Floating garbage removal system also looks very interesting (shown in the picture).  In particular, the food garbage treatment becomes one of the problems to resolve in the country like Korea with huge population. Everyday in Korea almost 16,000 ton of food garbage are generated, which causes concerns about soil contamination as well as the cost to operate such food garbage. One of the popular machines at the ENVEX was eco-friendly food treatment machine (shown in the picture) that can decompose the food garbage in an environmental friendly way in low temperature and make the carbide charcoal as the final outcome.  Some machines use certain microbe that can decompose food and some have been already actually used for the residential area by local government.  Microbe has ability to eliminate bad smell of the food garbage and reduce the weight by drying the moisture. Moreover, most of the food treatment machines at the ENVEX discharge very little gases such as dioxin and carbon dioxide.
