hope

Found above quoted picture in the facebook, which reads like:-
There are cracks in the chest,
but patience is still here..
The heart is wounded,
but hope is still alive..
We shall rise again..
We shall bloom again..  :) :)

Yes,the massive earthquake left us wounded and shattered made us helpless. Two weeks past the quake still all of us are not settled,we are still in need and it is going to take alot of time before we are rebuilded. The wounds are still fresh even those small aftershocks reminds them all over again, but we shall rise again more stronger then ever,we haven't lost our hopes.

Not to let those hopes in the people of the affected areas die we are constantly doing whatever we can. So we are gathering funds and supplies and making them provided to the needy ones. After three visits to Gorkha our team went to Nuwakot, Taruka VDC 1, and Chautara on 8th May 2015.
Chautara village has 34 households among them almost all of the houses are damaged. There was one human casualty, few livestock's were dead and few were wounded. The scenario would be worse if the quake had occurred at night. Most of them are safe because they were in their fields at the time of quake.
On that they we hired a mini-truck, loaded our supplies and left Pokhara at about 6:30 A.M. NST and reached the VDC at about 12:30 P.M. NST.The village could be reached only after crossing a suspension bridge and some hours hiking uphill. At first we transported the supplies across the river with the involvement of our team mates and some of the villagers. It took us about 1 hour. Then we hired a tripper and reached the village at about 3:30 P.M. There was an earthen road up to the village but there were no regular transportation facility. When we reached there, people were waiting for us. They were happy to have us there as a first helping hands.

As we didn?t have large sum of money we couldn?t arrange tents but we made sure that the supplies shall help them to sustain them for minimum twenty days to a month. So our major supply included 34 sacks of rice (30 kg each),10 sacks of beaten rice,34 kg lentils,34 liter cooking oil and basic supplies included sanitary and first aid materials along with fast foods like noodles, biscuits, dalmoths etc.We distributed those supplies and went through the village. The scenario was heartbreaking as only few houses were standing still other were just rubbles. Hope the village will be reconstructed sooner the possible.
And with a little of happiness with those smiles we were able to see, a heavy heart that observed the destruction and a strong determination that we have still more to do at about we hiked downhill for about an hour reached the highway at about 6:00 P.M. NST and reached Pokhara at about 11:30 P.M. NST.
P.S  A sincere thanks goes to Jennifer Lewis mam, Director, Tropical Dolphin Research Foundation without whom it wouldn?t have been possible for us to do this much all in our own and special thanks to my teammates brothers and sisters, and all those who supported Jennifer mam and eco-generation family where I get encouragement and inspiration for every good deeds done.

Also, after our team returned from Gorkha we had a short documentry made by Jennifer mam.You can find it here at
