Nation is in need, help so that others can live(Nepal Earthquake)

by | 30-04-2015 18:01

Fraction of seconds and nothing remains the same as before, that's how natural disasters come. On 25th April 2015 earthquake of magnitude 7.8 hit Nepal at 11:56 NST. Its epicenter was approximately 34 km east-southeast of Lamjung, Nepal, and its hypocenter was at a depth of approximately 15 km. And aftershocks are still being felt. According to recent database 6100 people are killed until 29th April 2015 and thousands are injured.
This unpleasant event has caused massive destruction of humans, houses into piles of rubble around the country and important UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. And most importantly thousands corpse and fallen walls, heaps of ruins says many dreams are dead, hopes are lost, despair, helplessness and grief's is all we can see.
Should we continue listen those cries, looking those bleedings and let the country struggle alone? No, country is in need and we've got to do something. Prayers with action are crucial. While many focused on the capital city, less attention was paid to Gorkha, Dhading, Sindhupalchowk districts where the situation is even more tragic. IOF team

whole team

Keeping those things in mind along with other willing students as well as doctors and nurses from different institution of Pokhara Prasun Ghimirey, Diwash Gurung, Saroj Ghimirey, Kushal Shrestha and Bhumi Tharu from Institute of Forestry headed to Gorkha on 26th April 2015.

In Gorkha the Barpak, Laprak, Simjung village and other many VDC has been completely destroyed. As the group wanted to help the people in Gorkha immediately they weren?t able to collect enough funds and went there using the money they had. The team themselves faced harsh situation due to lack of enough preparations. They took a bus 6 hours and then hiked for 6 hours to reach the area. The way was prune to landslides and rock fall and also there were streams to be crossed. :)

Meications

Without caring about their life this team went on carrying 30kg bag with supplies on their back. They went up to Jaubari village of Gorkha. Despite of the hardships they helped the people of Simjung village and Jaubari village with all they had and all they could.

And according to them there are many other unexplored villages where none has reached and all those places are in need of food, tents, clothes, water, medications. The scenarion there is heartbreaking, all people are desperate to get supplies to get some help as nothing is left except for the ruins that remain there with dead decaying bodies which are highly potential in spreading epidemics.

we

While these guys were serving people risking their own life. We had collected funds(around 295 US $) and some more supplies here at our college and on 28th April 2015 another team from here went to District Office Gorkha and left it there. On the same day the first team returned back to Pokhara. And we have again planned to go to those areas and other nearby areas on 1st May as people are still in need, childrens and old ones are dying. We are provided with some fund with the help of Jennifer Lewis who is the Director of Tropical Dolphin Research Foundation. This time we'll have supplies of about 580 US$ and those who'll be here in Pokhara shall be raising more funds and gathering more supplies.
Thanks to all those who have helped Nepal one or other ways. Even a single packet of biscuit matters a lot. So please everyone help as much as you can. Here I would also like to convey my sincere gratitude to the Pokhara Team who dared to accept the hardships and went to share the pain and add a little hope to those helpless people in the remote   mountains. Yes, Nepal we are with you, we shall rise again and stay stronger than ever.
