WWF BRAZIL Campaign> Embrace One Specie

by Luiz Bispo | 26-04-2015 16:54

In Brazil, it was launched this year a campaign called "Embrace One Specie". The campaign is running by WWF Brazil. The goal is to protect endangered species and also conserve its habitat.
The first chosen specie was the Panda which is the WWF symbol. Then, two endangered Brazilian species were included into the campaign. They are: Boto Rosa (Pink Big Fish) and Arara-Azul (Blue Bird). The campaign is for people awareness about their risk of extinction and online donation which shall be forwarded to create methods to protect the animals and its habitat.
The Panda is one of the most popular animal in the world, even though it is in risk of extinction. The WWF is the main organization with conservation projects for the mammal and its forests.
The Boto-Rosa (Pink-Big-Fish) is the biggest freshwater dolphin of the world and it is in Brazil. Unfortunately, such animal is facing serious risk of extinction due to fishing practice and hydropower plant construction.
The Arara-Azul (Blue Bird) is one of the most beautiful birds in the world. It is an endangered specie because of illegal commerce and as a consequence decreased its population.
With a donation of about $25,00, the WWF will find strategies to protect the animals.
That is a great initiative and hopefully together we can help these species.
