 Brazilian Commercial Forests are well known in the world. It is planted areas of Eucalyptus and Pines that support industrial production of paper, energy and furniture. For a long time, researchers were trying to figure out an revolutionary genetic way to improve the trees growing development. That could significantly change all wood production perspective that the world is facing nowadays. Recently, such a revolutionary aspect were provided by Brazilian scientists to the world. The innovation was developed by two companies: FutureGene and Suzano. The research was made under the Eucalyptus species and aimed to produce more cellulose in a short period of time. It is a transgenic that can positively boost paper industrial production. However, there is the argument that such a transgenic tree would harm ecosystems and so therefore negatively affect animals and natural sources. One of the main issues is relating to the bees life and its honey production. Because of that the honey industry could become bankrupted. The transgenic tree will be released and the revolution shall be announced for all the world. Brazil is innovating and working hard to find out the best way of a sustainable development. |
