![]() ![]() ![]() It was right on the way to the hostel of our university,Agriculture and Forestry University(AFU,Rampur,Nepal), Hundreds of Environment activist walked by it everyday and yet it looked like a forsaken park, in fact noone would have identified it as a park, the most sad part was that the park was named after Madan Bhandari, arguably the most decent politician of the 90s, whom the students leaders never miss to sell in their speech. So what went wrong? why wouldn't anybody clean it? The harsh truth is the university administration assumes this as a trivial thing, maintainence staff couldn't careless And we, students hardly act in absence of funds. It occured to me, All it takes to initiate a cleanliness program is a broom, few tools and willingness. I discussed this with my three friends and we borrowed the instrument from our Horticulture lab. and posted a notice in our facebook group about the issue and asking them to join us to clean. 28 out of 63 came and we cleaned the place. We didn't do much but the hard part is done I guess as now ANNFSU,a university based organization has sponsored us colors. Assistant Professor of Horticulture Bishal Shrestha, has promised us to to give plants. And we intend to develop it as a Butterfly Hub of our University. My friend, also a member from Tunza Ashish Ghimire actively contributed and we are grateful for the feedback and motivation from Tunza Regional Ambassadors Rahul Acharya and Aksana Dallakoti, despite their busy schedule.
