The Eco Vanguards of the Year 2015 and Sidlak Awards

Last March 25, 2015, CIT IE Department presents the first SIDLAK(Filipino term for Shine)  Awards. SIDLAK Awards is an awarding ceremony where the efforts of IE students of CIT University were recognized in different programs such as IELE (Industrial Engineering Leadership Expedition), Project NOW.T.B.U.K.S, IEEL (Industrial Engineering Eagles League). There were 65 student eco-vanguards who attended the awarding ceremony. The awarding ceremony started from 1 pm to 6pm.

IELE is a leadership expedition where applying IE students from different levels undergone interview, series of character development, public speaking, and entrepreneurship seminars .It is a seasonal program where scholars had a graduation every year. This season 9, the scholars of IELE (Enlisted Strata) were recognized as graduates and the graduates also received different leadership awards. Well, there were 25 scholars who completed the series of seminars. IELE season 9 was also the spearheading organizer who organize the Green Industrial Engineering Leadership Caravan 2015 last February 8, 2015.

Project NOWTBUKS (Now is the Time to Build Up Kids for Sustainability) is also a program of CIT IE Department where students of CIT University has a chance to volunteer their time and expertise, to empower youth, and engage themselves to environmental awareness and sustainability.
In SIDLAK Awards, almost 50 Eco Vanguards where recognized and received awards. The most awaited part of the program was the announcing of the ECO VANGUARD OF THE Year 2015 who humbly gave her effort, time and mark a significant impact to the youth and environmental awareness. She was Ms. Stephanie Sabal, a 4th year IE student. Currently, she's also an alumnae of Technologian Leaders Academy who also received award as Best Project (Rooftop Garden a Sustainable Project) with her team. The awards were based on the tally vote from the student eco volunteer, attendance, and Headmaster's choice.

IEEL season 1 (Fiery Eagles) was also a program of CIT IE Department where IE students were engaged to a holistic series of seminars. It aims to produce vanguards who conceptualize community project in different fields in entrepreneurship and environmental affairs. Well, there were 4 teams (consisting of 4 members each team) who presents there Project Proposal for the community. Well, I am also part of this program. This was such a great avenue for us to create and innovate sustainable projects.
