 Activity Date: 22/03/2015 Non-Profit Organization: SOS MATA ATLANTICA The organization was built up on 80's when scientist, business representatives, journalists and defenders of the environment issue began to get concerned about damages that human are causing to nature sources such as plants. animals, soil, air and water resources. One of the main goals of the organization is to spread out awareness regarding preservation of the Brazilian ecosystem Mata Atlantica. This ecosystem is the richest one of Brazil in terms of biodiversity followed by the Amazon Forest. The organization consists of a large number of passionate volunteers. Most of the developed activities by the organization is within environment education and planting meetings. On 22th of March, a group of volunteers have been in an area called "Parque dos Bufalos" and several native species of trees were planted in order to provide for citizens and biological life a better environment. Hopefully, in a couple of years, it shall be possibly to view the site and realize how the nature can be valuable for the balance and dynamic of the natural sources and humans.
