If we are healthy or want to be healthy we use cycle instead of car, stairs instead of lift, & automatically contribute for conservation of environment, so being healthy means practicing eco-friendly culture in routine life. Walking is anyway an excellent way to keep fit & the best thing to do on a weekend morning [that we normally pass by sleeping]. Considering this as my motivation I Participated on 13-Mar-15 in LuLu Walk for Wellness in Dubai. The LuLu hypermarkets sponsored the event & pledged to donate AED10 {US $ 2.7} for every participation in the walk to Rashid Centre for disabled. Today thousands of people joined for walk & Rashid Centre was benefitted by the same. This event by LuLu is Three Years young. Me & my family is actively participating in the same for all three years. The slogan of the event is Spread Awareness, Beat diabetes. There were many health checkups organized. Fruits were distributed as a breakfast. Other healthy snacks like Cornflakes etc. were also offered to the participants. We registered for the walk a week ago & reached early in the morning @ 8AM at Zabeel Park, Dubai. First of all we spread the word on Social networking by becoming social ambassadors to knock out diabetes. Then, we took the 5KM walk & felt quite active afterwards as the weather was cool & the cause was noble. In order to relax myself I played drums a bit in the live show being organized at the venue. I noticed a young guitarist playing very soulful guitar. I listened for a while & posed for a pic with her. This was a morning well spent & quite healthy as well. The walk was quite refreshing. I urge the readers to make walking a daily habit. It helps to reduce diabetes. And if by walking a bit we avoid vehicles it will be double blessing Healthy for us & healthy for our Mother Earth. |
